FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ANNOUNCED!!!

On January 30, 2009, Alameda County Superior Court Judge Robert Freedman granted preliminary approval of the class action settlement agreement in Capitol People First et al. v. Department of Developmental Services et al. Disability Rights California filed this case in 2002 on behalf of 7000 Californians with developmental disabilities living in large institutions, Capitol People First, California Alliance for Inclusive Communities and The Arc of California.

On April 24, 2009 there will be a hearing where Judge Freedman ultimately decides whether or not to grant final settlement approval.
