Disability Capitol Action Day

TAKE PART in the annual Disability Capitol Action Day, In may of each year.  CAIC helped establish this annual event that unites the entire California disability community to fight for legislation and state budgets that promote self-determined lives and community participation of people with disabilities.  Thanks to the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers for their leadership in carrying this event!

SELF-DETERMINATION

IN CALIFORNIA

Self-Directed Services should start with San Diego Regional Center in late 2008 or early 2009.  This option will expand one regional center per month to the other four pilot regional centers.  Then will expand rapidly to the others.

Check out the DDS web page on SDS

Check Out Tom Nerney's Report to CAIC

on an earlier version of California's Self-Directed Services Waiver.  We thank the Department for their teamwork on revising the waiver.  Check out the final waiver application.
